Introducing the Treetop Family mice!
Our friendly Treetop Family teach us about nature through songs and daily activities.
Enter the smart, hardworking and very athletic mice.
Did you know mice are great at jumping, running, swimming and climbing?
Teacher tip: This craft comes with a free printable template which makes it easy to pre-cut the pieces.
This way, little hands can focus on glueing and sticking skills instead of cutting.
Older students can gain skills by following their patterns, tracing and cutting.
It must still be able to stand on its own.
Cut some 12 slits at the top of the tube.
(This is where you will insert the ears later.)
Cut out all of the shapes on the printed template resource sheet.
Fold the brown sheet of construction paper in half widthwise.
Line up the head, belly and ear templates to the folded edge of the paper.
Trace the arm and leg templates onto the double layer of brown paper.
Fold the pink sheet of paper in half.
Line up the edge of the inner ear template to the folded edge.
Trace the tip of the nose and the mouse tail.
Next, fold the yellow sheet of paper in half.
Line up and trace the belly template to the folded edge.
Cut out all of the shapes!
Layer the two belly shapes and glue them together.
Glue them onto the paper tube.
Next, layer the pink and brown ears and glue them together as well.
Insert the ears into the slits at the top of the paper tube.
Your mouse is starting to take shape!
Glue the pink tip of the nose onto your head shape.
Glue the tips of the legs, arms and tail to the back of the paper tube.
Glue on the googly eyes and tail last.
