Are you looking for a kids project thats sweet and unique?
This is one of thoseclay crafts for kidsthat the whole family will love making!
Its Leslie from Pink Stripey Socks.
Today Im sharing a really easy idea for making clay portrait pendant necklaces.
Theyre such a special way to showcase kids sweet artwork.
Plus, they make great handmade gifts (like forMothers Day) too!
Heres how youll make them.
BUT youll want to give them some guidance on how big the square should be.
Draw a square on the cardstock using a pencil and ruler.
Then let your kids use markers to draw whatever they like inside the square.
Create the Frame
Place your paper/cardstock inside a plastic page protector.
This protects the cardstock from getting damaged as the kids make their frames.
it’s possible for you to also try taping down plastic wrap over the top.
Youll want something clear so you’re able to see the drawing, but the clay shouldnt stick.
Using the clay, design frames to go around your artwork.
Use a skewer to pierce a hole through the top of the frame.
(confirm the hole is big enough for your string to go through!)
Bake the clay frames according to package instructions.
Attach Artwork to Frame
Cut out your artwork.Leave some spacearound the artwork when you cut it out.
Then youll ensure that the artwork glues on nicely to the frame and doesnt get covered up.
Use craft glue to adhere the artwork to the back of the clay frames.
Put the string through each pendant, and of course add some beads for extra sparkle!
you’re able to also add cut pieces ofstraw, macaroni, or whatever else floats your boat.
