Its easier than you think!
The wood box you see actually held a set of wine glasses I received for her wedding.
Who knew that our mom would hold onto it all these years?!
Metal Seed Packet Box
Yet that is exactly what happened.
Our mom has held on to it for not only a couple of years, but almost 20 years!
I decided to give it a makeover so that my mom can use it to hold receipts.
Because lets face it- a cute box of receipts is much better than a shoebox!
Many of us have memorabilia from our past that would be great for upcycling.
Upcycling simply means recycling something to make it into something new or better.

On the front of the wood box, I glued several small pieces of driftwood.
And seeings how my mom lives right by the lake, this was the perfect finishing touch!
The inside of the wooden box was finished the same as the outside with a layer of decoupage.
Its such a pretty floral pattern that I was tempted to add to every surface in sight!
