Mix a bit of black paint into some white to create a light grey.
Paint the rocks with the light grey and let dry.
Create a darker shade of grey and paint wings on the sides of the stones.
Paint two large white circles for eyes.
Add two black dots in the eyes (a bit towards the center).
With the back of the brush add a couple of white spots to the top right of each eye.
Add a little diamonds shaped orange beak and small orange ovals for feet.
And just like that, in a few simple steps, the painted owl rocks are complete!
