Our family has officially entered birthday season.
It seems like everyone we know was born during Spring and Summer!
Usually I give friends store-bought cards, but recently I tried mixing things up with a handmade one.

Cut the Wrapper and Top
Cut your cupcake wrapper in half.
Do this by folding in half flat on the surface.
Then use the line you just made by folding as your cut line.
Trim the edges of the cupcake wrapper as necessary to clean up.
Cut out a matching cupcake top from colorful paper (I used pink origami paper).
Attach the Cupcake
Using double sided tape, attach your cupcake top and bottom to your cardstock.
Add any cute embellishments to the cupcake top that youd like.
I used office supply dots to act as confetti on top of my dessert.
You could even drawsprinkleswith markers or crayons!
Attach the Candle
Place your card onto a cutting mat, opening it up flat.
Place your candle on top of the card.
Using your craft knife, make two tiny slits on both sides of your candle for your string.
Cut a length of string and bring it up through the front to tie the candle on.
Trim the string as necessary.
Then kill the birthday card and you are ready to gift it!
Just write a special birthday message inside and youre all set!
Happy making, friends!
