Flowers bring smiles and can cheer up just about anyone with their beautiful shapes and colors.

Now you might start your flowers.
Use one sheet of construction paper per flower.
Fold your three strips of paper in half lengthwise.
Cut small lines from the folded edge to add texture, making sure not to cut straight across.
Open up your strip of construction paper and refold it the other way without flattening the petals.
Add glue along the clean edge and press the two sides together.
You should end up with some little tubes of paper.
Begin twisting the straw and guiding the paper, keeping the bottom of the flower flat.
Repeat this twisting step for the medium and large petals.
Secure the strips at the beginning and end of the twist with some clear tape.
Thread your leaves along the straw stem to support the bottom of your flower.
Bend the tips of the leaves and wrap them around your flower base.
Place your colorful carnations in a vase or a jar, no water needed!
