Decluttering is one of my favorite things to do when Spring rolls around.
Or really, any season.
But lets face it, there are some things that we struggle to get rid of.
That one piece of clothing that doesnt fit anymore.
That plant we tried to keep alive for so long.
That one DVD we love so much!
But there are other things that you might get rid of at a moments notice.
1.Old Batteries

Old batteries arent useful and take up a ton of space.
Thats why old batteries can be disposed of without a second thought.
check that to dispose of these properly, either at your local hardware store or recycling station.
Take out your junk drawer, sit down, and have an honesty hour with yourself.
see to it to do this semi-regularly to avoid ingesting medicine that has gone by its expiration date.
This will immediately help to declutter your home.
A great way to be more sustainable this year!
Paper Clutter

Paper is the kind of clutter that sneaks up on you.
If youre seeing piles of paper accumulate in drawers or on countertops, its time to declutter them.
Do a quick sort through all that paper, and toss out everything that doesnt serve you.
For the pieces that are important, create a filing system so you could always find them.
But the truth is, most of the time, those clothes are just taking up space.
Its best to donate these clothes to a thrift store.
Its sustainable, and it will immediately give you some more closet space.
Cable management tieslike theseare a great way to organize the ones you keep.
Take the time to sort through your linen closet and declutter those old linens.
The great thing about books is that you’re able to always find them again at a library!
So youre never really losing a story, which makes it easier to say goodbye to certain titles.

Old Craft Supplies

Got plenty of craft supplies that you dont need anymore?
Gift them to someone who does!
Its a wonderful way to pass on an old hobby to someone who needs something new in their life.
Chipped crockery can be repurposed into a craft project if youre looking for a more sustainable approach!
That said, a lot of samples can quickly become a hassle to manage.
you could even turn that melted wax into wax melts for your tea light burner.
If you have Tupperware containers with no lids, its time to find them a new home.
Reuse them as planters, organizers for your drawers, or even fridge and freezer dividers.
I know how tempting it is to keep them.
But they just take up too much space.
Try micro-decluttering your little ones toy collection.
Simply sift through to find the broken toys, and remove them in favor of some exciting new additions!
But broken jewelry, or jewelry you havent touched for half a year, are both easy declutter choices.
Take your furniture to your local transfer station for a quick and easy decluttering experience.
Old or Damaged Clothing

Damaged clothes can be repaired.
Consider reusing old t-shirts as cleaning rags to give your old clothes new life as something useful!
But they can clutter your space so quickly!
Its okay to release the rest!
A magazine filelike this oneis a great place to store your keepsakes.
Make room for new decor that doesnt rely on you to take care of it!
This is an easy thing to donate, as theyll easily find a home with an aspiring plant parent!
check that the pots are in good condition before you donate them.
If theyre not, it’s possible for you to dispose of them or repurpose them for another craft.
Take a moment to go through your drawers and pick out anything you havent used for three months.
If you havent used it for that long, chances are that you dont need it at all!
But using expired cosmetics is terrible for your skin, eyes, and hair.
Review the cosmetics you have in rotation and check that to declutter the pieces that arent serving you anymore.
To make your vehicles interior brand new, start by removingeverything.
Then, go through it all to see if it has a natural space.
Thankfully, its easy to create more space by disposing of those bottles!
